A Framework for Achieving Health Equity in Pediatric Care
Through the COVID-19 pandemic and a renewed public dialogue on pervasive racial inequities, the nation has become increasingly aware of the impact of systemic racism on health outcomes. A panel of Columbia University pediatric thought leaders will convene to discuss inequity in children’s health and how pediatricians and others who care for children can begin to address it. Topics will include structural and interpersonal racism and how these manifest through disparities in children’s health
and healthcare; the lifelong impact of structural factors on environmental health and children’s health conditions, including asthma; training new physicians to provide equitable care; and the role medical centers can play in advancing equity in children’s healthcare and outcomes.
Moderated by award-winning CBS medical correspondent Dr. Max Gomez, the webinar will feature a Q&A for participants. Please join us for a discussion of this important topic!
